Scott Cooney has purchased the West logyard located on the west side of the Blackfoot River in Milltown. This property is in the planning stages and its uses are being discussed with the Bonner and Milltown communities.
The first step in developing the Milltown Logyard is to clean up and remove the Class 3 designation. We are appealing to the state for assistance in this cleanup.
We are also in the process of immediatly establishing a forum for updating the community action plan.
We also want to re-establish the prestine Blackfoot River area by removeal of the powerlines.
What is planned for the west log yard?
We see the Milltown logyard as a multi faceted opportunity consisting of a river recreation area, river access, housing and commercial uses.
What sort of housing are you considering?
We want to have single family, multi-family and also senior living arrangements withing this community.
What is going to be done about the loss of the tax base?
Due to the loss of the industrial tax base that existed with Stimson, we plan on doubling the tax base that once existed in Bonner, increasing the benefits to the community.
